Why did the ACR fail?
I remember this was supposed to replace the M4 and be the new go-to modern sporting rifle, completely replacing the AR15. What happened?

As far as Uncle Sugar was concerned, it wasn't enough of an improvement over the M4 platform to make a difference, so they ditched the entire program. The reason it failed commercially is due to price and mistakes in advertising. It was supposed to be an $800 gun but when they hit the market, they were more than $1500 which was a lot more than people expected.
