How to clean a glock 19?
Cleaning a Glock is pretty simple. You remove the magazine, lock the slide back, and pull the trigger. Now, you remove the barrel by pushing it upwards from the bottom of the gun. Replace the barrel with a cleaning rod and bore snake. Run the bore snake through the barrel a few times and then through a bore snake receptacle. Next, submerge the rod and bore snake in some cleaning solution and run them through and out of the barrel 10-15 times. After that, run some gun oil in and out of the barrel 20-30 times to lube it up. Finally, wipe everything down with a rag or paper towel and you’re done. ...and wipe everything down. let it air dry. Lightly coat the insides with some FS 5W-20 using a q tip. re-assemble. Don't use hoppes, it sucks.
You should NOT be putting oil in your barrel. Get some odorless mineral spirits, paper towels, Q tips, and synthetic 5W-20. Take the gun apart, use the mineral spirits on the rags and q tips...
