Can I mount a picattiny rail for an optic ?

Hi Daniel, You could but not easily. This bolt firearm isn't tapped or drilled for it. There's really no where to do this so you would need a gunsmith to figure out something custom.

I would contact Anschutz at 205-655-7500 and ask their advice. I would rather have good optic mounted straight to the drilled and tapped receiver than mounted to a rail on a target gun like this

Yes, Telescopic sight mounting can be done by the 0.43 inch wide ANSCHUTZ Wave Style V-block dovetail rail or by the additional drilled and tapped holes. A picatinny rail is possible since it is drilled and tapped. nioa.com.au/products/view/1903 ---- This
