Right out of the box this 1911 is beautiful. I have 0 complaints. The finish is great, good mag and shoots nice. The weight of the pistol makes the recoil almost nonexistent!

I have two 1911 style pistols. This is the one from Taurus and I enjoy shooting it often. I have had not problems with the gun except it wants to get still if ammo is left in the gun for several days, as in a holster or sitting on a shelf in the safe. This seems to happen to every 1911 i have ever had. It is comfortable to shoot and not excessively heavy to carry if needed. Shoots to point of aim and I have used led, semi jacked hollow points and full metal jackets in it and no problems. ...more

Taurus 1911B-1 pt 45 came dirty cleaned it . When to gun range shot 200 rounds no jams shot flawlessly, surprisingly accurate. Easy shooter.
I purchased the Taurus PT1911AL 45 acp....... Don't believe the naysayers......The stock Taurus is a better shooter than my Gold Cup or Kimber Coustom. As usual Buds can't be beat on service and price.
Taurus PT 1911 Pistol came when promised. Operates and shoots great. Sights are lousy. Tiny metric setscrew and dovetails milled too large. Shot 10 rounds and front sight was loose. Set screw would not tighten. There is a hole for the setscrew but it is in the middle of dovetail and does not allow drift adjustments and th pistol shot right. 30 rounds and the rear sight was loose. Also would not tighten. CalledTaurus and a nice young lady agreed to ship a new set of sights at no charge. Have not arrived so I tried to tighten dovetail with punch. Almost got it dialed in with Blazers and the front sight came off. Will wait on the new sights and try Lctite. Pistol short stroked a few cheap rounds- probably my shooting grip. Love the pistol- hate the sights. Kinda like my Harbor Freight drill press - great press, needs a better chuck. I ...more
