Savage Stealth 308 Winchester is one AWESOME RIFLE purchased after shooting the savage 110 tactical in 308, I like the blueprinted action and it does not disappoint, shoots at 50 yards almost always thru the same hole or just outside the original hole, had thought the 5R rifling has alot to do with these results and always used handloads no factory ammo has been tried yet , it does love hornady bthp in 168 grains, also looks to be a great hot ticket item as just rechecked the price and even at buds discount it goes for $883.00 which is $83.00 more than it cost when purchased , if your on the fence buy, it shoots right out of the box , thank-you buds and savage for one great rifle 9/18/2019. ...more
I saw this nice little precision rifle in a gun shop and added it my wish list. Saw Buds had a good price on it, plus savage ran a rebate on it, and pulled the trigger n bought one in .308 cal. I liked the Ruger Precision Rifle, but felt like I was looking down the barrel funny when I shoulder it. This 10BA Stealth feels like I can get behind it better. Also like the Drake chassis. Put a Pressision Armament M11 muzzle brake on it using their Accu Washer Kit, for correct indexing of the brake. Will purchase a Vortex Viper Scope next, so I can go shooting when the weather warms up. Paid by echeck so I got the Buds cash discount price. Once everything cleared, Buds shipped it to my local FFL with no problems n tracking number. Thanks Buds for everything, great service ...more
The rifle has to be one of the best buys of the year, Barrel is very top shelf and one of the best you can buy. The trigger is WOW from the factory , you cannot get better. The rifle over all is just one great buy . I have some other 308 s that are a lot more expensive and are not as accurate . Let alone more fun to shoot. It is just one great rifle for the money. Thanks Buds. Marshall ...more
Buds was a pleasure to do business with. I needed help with Savage with their rebate. Call Buds and the gentleman said he would contact Savage and call me back. I got a return call from Buds and the problem was solved. When it comes to the rifle just google Savage 10BA Steath rifle reviews and you will get comprehensive reviews on the rifle. Just remember it's a Savage with a Savage barrel. Have several all shoot straight. ...more
Lord have mercy! I believe the good Lord himself sits on the throne with the crosshairs on his Savage 10BA Stealth aimed on the devils forehead. I lifted the box to open it and a full grown American bald eagle wearing a full denim sleeveless jacket flew from the innards of the box and perched himself upon my left shoulder. I lifted the rifle out of the box and heard the voice of Uncle Sam himself telling me to go forth to secure and defend my beloved land from the tyranny of terrorism and roaming zombies with my stealth. This gun shoots straighter than the path to the heavens of the most high God, where after a little research, I found out that this rifle is indeed manufactured there. After about twenty rounds, I went home to shower and realized that somehow this gun tattooed a bruise on my shoulder that perfectly resembled the American flag. I pray that its permanent. Buy this gun, you wont regret it. ...more

I like the stealth you picked. The SIG M400 is a very nice NY rifle but 200yards is out there. I'd go with this Stealth if you like it. You'll find a few other NY compliant 7.62s but the price is near double this one. If you can accept the ergonomics and size of this stealth, I think it will do what you like.
Look at the Savage 11 Long Range Hunter. I just bought one from Buds and even in 107 degree heat the first 2 groups at 100 yards with 6.5 Creedmoor Winchester 140 match ammo went into slightly elongated holes. Less than .5 MOA budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411557869/Savage+11+Long+Range+Hunter+6.5+Creedmoor
Arthur, I don't know your price point or the specific rifle configuration you seek but, I am partial to Savage bolt actions 1st and Remington 700 Sendero 2nd. Both are highly accurate out of the box with little to no tuning necessary. And, I'm talking sub moa. In truth, manufacturers gaps in overall accuracy has declined due to better manufacturing methods, that it basically boils down to personal configuration choices rather than choice by grouping. Savages are mighty tough to beat when accuracy, reliability and price are averaged. I would find a rifle that you like and then experiment with different loads to find the "Cats Meow" as ammunition will probably more of a deciding factor than the rifle itself.
Arthur, I would take a good look at this budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/2084_36/products_id/18538/Ruger+Precision+Rifle+.308+Win
