Douglas R on Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911
This review will be the good the bad and then good. I bought this Desert Eagle 1911 C, because I have owned 2 of these in the past but I sold one and traded the other one and I know that the Desert Eagle 1911 c is a lot of gun for the money. So when I got this 1911 home I cleaned it and took it out to my back yard range yes I live in the country and tried to shoot 4 mags through her and I had stove pipes, failure to feed and failure to eject the spent shell. So I then called Magnum Research and told the rep about my problems and he told me that they would send me a e-mail with a return label and a RMA so after this call I cleaned the Desert Eagle again and noticed that the ejector was lose and I added this problem to my e-mail. So I returned this 1911 to them on a monday via over night and on Wednesday I got another e-mail with tracking numbers from fed X and got my pistol back on a friday with the work that was done. They replaced the ejector and made an adjustment to the extractor. So I took her back to my range and shot 50 rounds through her with no problems. So the good, This 1911 is a shooter and accurate, The bad I had to send her back but got my pistol back in the same week and the good this Desert Eagle is worth every penny. So buy one today and you will be glad you did. ...more
Really like the feel of this 1911 9mm. Has very smooth slide and trigger. A little on the heavy side but will compensate on the recoil. The barrel is no joke! Super thick! This bull barrel will probably never wear out. The mags mechanism looks sloppy but could possibly find better ones. Nice to see a knife with the same handles and MR logo. ...more

California
I do not see that pistol on the CA compliant list, or on Bud's CA compliant list. I would have to say no, it is not approved for CA.
