John W on Glock 43 Crimson Trace
Glock 43 with Crimson Trace offers a lot in a small package. My wife was having issues with standard sights so I got this 9mm for her. She can now put 10 in the bull at 10 yards. The recoil is mild and she prefers this pistol over my larger caliber weapons. One issue we had was an occasional failure to feed (about 1 in 50 rounds) which I considered way too high a failure rate for concealed carry. I read that the problem could be fixed by adding Rem Oil to the recoil spring/guide rod assembly. I did and it seems to have fixed the problem with no failure to feed malfunctions since. I also purchased the Pierce Grip +1 magazine extension which I recommend. Not only does it make the gun a 7 + 1 but it extents the grip to give a better feel and matches the Glock grip perfectly. This firearm only comes with 2 magazines -- buy another one. Out of the box you've got 6 + 1, +6 spare mag = 13 rounds. Buy another magazine and add the Pierce Grip +1 extensions and you'll be carrying 22 rounds into the fight instead of 13. I commonly carry this gun in my jeans or shorts front pocket using the DeSantis N3 holster -- a perfect combo which minimizes the firearm's print and acts effectively as a trigger guard. If you buy this pistol, be sure to lubricate the guide rod/recoil spring assembly before you carry it. ...more
