The frame also features a smooth trigger, reversible mag release, and ambidextrous slide stop. The magazine comes with a floor plate which is extended at the front for faster magazine change, and a orange follower, while the flared mag-well makes it easier to funnel the magazine into the mag-well. Glock's nDLC finish provides a tougher, more durable protection against corrosion and scratching. The Glock Marksman barrel features a barrel rifling which delivers improved accuracy. his Glock Gen 5 model has fixed front and rear sights.

Danny on Glock 17 Gen 5
Out of all the Glocks I’ve held in my hand this fits like it was custom made. Every time I went to buy a firearm I wanted a Glock but always ended up buying something that felt better. I bought this firearm from Sportsman Guide for one the price couldn’t be beat. Local gun stores asked me how do they sell them so cheap when their prices are much more expensive. I asked them to price match and they said they couldn’t match without losing money. The Glock Gen 5 is the first Glock I have ever purchased and after waiting 40 years I’m glad I did. I love this firearm so much it was worth the wait. I am not a fan boy but this Glock is my favorite firearm ever ...more
I prefer the Gen 5 over the Gen 4 because they've removed the finger grooves. For me that makes it a little more comfortable. The orange mag followers are a nice touch. The Ameriglo night sights including with this version work pretty well. You're not going to want them for target shooting but in a carry situation they're great for fast target acquisition. The tritium is nice and bright after dark.rnrnI'm not really sure what else to say. It's a Glock. It's reasonably priced. It's a hunk of plastic that's not going to win any awards for being pretty or stylish but that's not what it's made for. It's meant to go bang every time you pull the trigger and for that it performs perfectly. ...more
This gun has ran flawless so far (500rds). For those wondering these do come with the frame trimmed to match the front bevel of the slide. The only bad thing I have to say about this gun is in regards to the "stupid plastic sights" that Glock tries to force onto everyone. I am a lifelong Glock fan. But Glock, why don't you "strive for perfection" and make metal sights standard on all your guns (regardless of plain u-notch, three-dots, or whatever). Is that really too much to ask? The gun I received had the front sight smashed straight out of the box. I dunno who did it or if it happened in shipping. Another reason for metal sights. Plastic sights are far from perfection. Otherwise, the fit and finish was perfect. Minus the stupid plastic sights I would highly recommend this Gen 5 to others. ...more
Bud's delivers what they say they will! Customer service is really great! Prices are really great! I like connections they have with FFL's throughout the states. It has been really easy to buy firearms thru Bud's using the preferred FFL's of my choice. Many of them on the list I've already dealt with.
This is my first Glock product. All other pistols I own are S&W made. I was a little skeptical of Glock because so many people talk them up and I didn't want to just jump on the bandwagon because of it. I can honestly say that this was a GREAT purchase. It shoots great, and the price was competitive vs other online sellers. I got a houge grip for the stock which makes it even nicer. Would highly recommend Glock and Buds did a great good selling it. Sweet gun sweet price. ...more
I am a gun enthusiast. I am a Glock fan. I love my glock 22. Its the same gun as this one but in .40 S&W. I have wanted a Glock 17 for a while. So I found this Gen 5 with Night Sights on Buds, priced at about what they cost elsewhere without night sights. The Gun is a Glock. I never really minded the finger grooves, i kind of miss them actually. I think the additional beaver tail grips are cool, and helps if you have experienced "glock bite" the finish looks a little more black then the teflon pan finish of old. The new barrell, I'm not really sure if its a marketing ploy or what....I shot consistent groups at the range. Maybe I'm not good enough to tell the difference. Overall I am very happy with the purchase, the price, and the pistol! EBS ...more
Yes, the 10rd magazines are the same overall diameter physically. However, if you are in a restricted state, you will have to purchase a G17 from Buds that comes with 10rd magazines from the factory. Buds does not open or alter new firearm packages.
